I have just created a few pages within one site using Google's Page Creator. It's a nice simple platform that would suit beginners for creating a web site. You can add html codes, css, and javascript using a text editor and then upload the files to GPC. Also google videos, gadgets, maps, and adsense can be added. You may get some issues in terms of placement, realignment, etc depending on your layout, particularly for the 3 table setup. So experimentation or change of layout for a more open space may be required. I sometimes add tables, and place html codes and other components into them to help achieve correct placement.

You get 100 MB space, 10 MB file size maximum and no file type restrictions, and without ads. Apparently there is no bandwidth limit, but it's unclear if there is one. You can create, I think up to 5 sites, which can be linked together. Generally it's a simple interface to interact with, as it is a wysiwig platform, but you need html/javascript knowledge to enhance your site. Or you can visit tutorial and forum web/blog sites to get additional help and codes to append embed in your pages's site. One such site is jvanbaelen. Here you find plenty of tutorials and tips to add codes and features to enhance your site. I found GPC a nice simple approach - just to basically "drop" text in, and because of that, a change from heavily editing and coding standard web sites.

Simply nice and informative the Google gadgets. Many of them are customized mini info and search boxes that can be easily integrated within a web site with codes that are copied and pasted from Google's web master tools site. They will possibly appeal to visitors if the gadgets are relevant with the site's content, or perhaps still appeal if they are not relevant. Hence the gadgets may project more attractiveness and information than any embedded advertisements or other visual or text content within the site. The gadgets may be too good for visitors - They may become the "ads" to focus and click through and hence bypassing the site's content and any valid advertisements.

Thus there may be a bit of a initial visual conflict with informational link based ads, particularly if they look similar to linked based gadgets. This means perhaps, that the gadgets need to be selected and placed carefully within a site to try to exclude or minimize any appeal relative to any advertisement's present. Many of the gadgets are updated regularly - news, tech blocks, currencies, etc which will also account for their appeal. The use of gadgets and ads need to be readily identified, analyzed in the context of a site, and situated strategically so as to ideally compliment one another...

I have added a couple of gadgets to my Computer - New Zealand based site, which I believe fit in adequately...

Googles Gmail and...Benefits...Benefits

After not really using my Gmail account - I find it most useful in other areas, particularly if you have your own website. Gmail allows you to use your user name to create a blogger account, which you can link to your web site, add ads if you want, (adsense) and connect to "feedburner" - a enhancement to your blog account.

Then there are webmaster tools (http://www.google.com/webmasters/) - You can submit your site to help to create a index and site map for Google to optimize search ability in Google searches. There is provision to add nice and useful gadgets to your site: custom search forms, mini games, "tools", weather maps, world times, currency converters and hundreds more gadgets. Also, their are other useful tools and features (forums, analytics, developers, etc) to enhance your site.

In fact there are more Google "tools" - others such as google earth, page creator, and of course their great search engine ...The more I have started blogging and web designing, the more I have detoured a bit and immersed myself in Google's Gmail's derived beneficial add ons...
